April 18, 2014 (El Cajon)--The Farragut Circle Health & Safety Fair will be held Sat., May 3rd, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at 500 Farragut Circle, El Cajon.
Over 64 exhibitors and first responders will be passing out health and safety tip information. Sharp HealthCare will be offering free testing for cholesterol, blood sugar, body mass index and stroke screening. Vision checks will be available and Lions Club will be there to collect no longer used glasses to recycle to those in need. Free CPR compression training, half hour sessions, will be offered at 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. and individually throughout the day.
Free bicycle safety helmets (as supply lasts) donated by the Kiwanis Club of East San Diego County will be distributed. Children will enjoy meeting Mother Goose from the annual parade, face painting, obstacle course and activities, crafts and pot a plant to take home.
There will be demonstrations of Zumba with Bubblin' Belle Dance Fitness, yoga, tai chi and flamenco dancers. The Circle Community Garden at the same location will be holding gardening classes throughout the 4 hours. Laura from the Jeff & Jer Show will be there in the KyXy booth from 10 a.m. to noon.
The fair is sponsored by the First Presbyterian of El Cajon’s Neighbor-to-Neighbor (N2N) program. This program has been funded to fulfill community needs, initiate community spirit and understanding and provide beneficial information to east county residents. Circle Community Garden is another N2N program and spaces are still available to those who would like their own plot to grow healthy vegetables and get active outside.
